 Do The Right Thing

Don't Give Up

Have you ever tried to do the right thing, but felt you had failed?
You're not alone! The apostle said,

I know that my selfish desires won't let me do anything that is good.  Even when I want to do right, I cannot.  Instead of doing what I know is right, I do wrong.
And so, if I don't do what I know is right, I am no longer the one doing these evil things.  The sin that lives in me is what does them.  The Law has shown me that something in me keeps me from doing what I know is right.  With my whole heart I agree with the Law of God.  But in every part of me I discover something fighting against my mind, and it makes me a prisoner of sin that controls everything I do.  What a miserable person I am. Who will rescue me from  this body that is doomed to die?  Thank God! Jesus Christ will rescue me.  So with my mind I serve the Law of God, although my selfish desires make me serve the law of sin.
                                                                                                                           Romans 7.18-25

Help is on the way

Let Jesus rescue you and set you free from sin.

If you belong to Christ Jesus, you won't be punished. The Holy Spirit will give you life that comes from Christ Jesus and will set you free from sin and death. The Law of Moses cannot do this, because our selfish desires make the Law weak. But God set you free when He sent His own Son to be like us sinners and to be a sacrifice for sin. God used Christ's body to condemn sin. He did this, so that we would do what the Law commands by obeying the Spirit instead of our own desires.

Find new life

Make way for God's Spirit to live in you, and let your life be guided by the Spirit.

You are no longer ruled by your desires, but by God's Spirit, who lives in you.  People who don't have the Spirit of Christ in them, don't belong to Him.  But Christ lives in you.  So you are alive because God has accepted you, even though your bodies must die because of your sins.  Yet God raised Jesus to life!  God's Spirit now lives in you, and He will raise you to life by His Spirit
                                                                                                                                                                              Romans 8.9-11

There's hope for you yet

Be Filled with hope and be eager to do right.

God has shown us how kind he is by coming to save all people. He taught us to give up our wicked ways and our worldly desires and to live decent and honest lives in this world. We are filled with hope, as we wait for the glorious return our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. He gave himself to recuse us from everything that is evil and to make our hearts pure. He wanted us to be his own people and to be eager to do right.
                                                                                                                         Titus 2.11-14

Just believe

Have faith in Jesus and be saved.

All who are accepted because of their faith simply say. "The message is as near as your mouth or your heart."  And this is the same massage we preach about faith. So you will be saved, if you honestly say,"Jesus is Lord," and if you believe with all your heart that God raised Him from death.  God will accept you and save you, if you truly believe this and tell it to others.
                                                                                                                                                                                 Romans 10.8-10
